Hey oppo! So the CVCC has been in the shop all week. I’m having my mechanic check it out and make me a handy list of all the things I should do to it. When it gets back, the wrenching begins.

The mechanic is amazing. He’s been working on the Miata since the late 90’s and he does all the work on the Legend so he was pretty excited to see another old Japanese car come in. Parts are pretty hard to find he said, but he’s going to help and I’ve already started searching. I have found a head gasket and brake master cylinder so we just have many odds and ends to get now.

The deadline sits at April 2, 2016, where the Civic will be revealed at Minnesota Cars and Coffee. Anyone who hasn’t been to it and is in or from the area should definitely give it a shot. They call it the best in the country! I will award oppo readers and followers of the story who find the car, with a very top secret and valuable prize, yet to be determined.

Thanks for following! I’ll keep updating as it comes along and writing on Sunday nights.

Also I’ll find out how to post a picture of my actual car

What do I get ? Also, when you are in the post editor on mobile, it’ll be in the upper right corner, the little diagram of a mountain.

I’m going to guess

Brake hoses

ball joints

drive shafts

bushings

pretty much anything made of or incorporating rubber parts.

Yes, as well as a cylinder head. And rust on almost every body panel. And the seals, when it rains it fills up with water:)

There is somebody selling a rust-free ‘76 here in Texas for $1500, which may be cheaper than the cost of rust repairs if yours is bad enough.

If I had the space I’d be going out there right now. Like the wheels too.
